The Most Subjective Vanderbilt Sports News and Commentary In The Land...

Should, Coulda

Thats all I want to say about that game. I was in a bad mood all weekend after that wrenching loss. We need a kicker, and we need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

And don't give me this BS about being a football fan, or a Vanderbilt fan, or a "victory" fan. We don't get paid to write these blahgs, so I don't have to pander to your apathetic attitude. You aren't a real fan if you don't want your team to win. I don't go to football games to watch 250 lb men run around with tight pants on. I go in hopes of watching a victory. Its a huge cop out to say that "at least it was a good game." True fans leave a game like Saturday's game against UT with an awful feeling in their stomach. Thats why I love College Football, and that's why I love to be a Vanderbilt fan. No matter what happened on Saturday, I will be back the next weekend with the same hope of Victory. I completely agree with a comment I saw earlier that a team that almost wins all the time, is a team that always loses. That's not to say that Vanderbilt hasn't made vast improvements. I just don't see the harm in wanting more. Instilling a winning attitude is key to creating a winning environment, and a winning team. If you think otherwise, then why don't you go ask Lloyd Carr if his team "played a good game" on Saturday.

In other news, it could be worse. Ole Miss suspended 20 players today for stealing from a hotel. This Picture wraps it all up.

First of all, I really do appreciate this blog. I check it every day.

I want to win as much as you do. Losing hurts me as much as it hurts anybody.

But I'd never go over to the dark side and root for Mordor just because they win a lot. [If Vandy went 1-11 every year, and the one win was against Poxville, I could probably live with it.]

I saw Vandy beat Davidson 63-8 one year. As a ball game, it sucked. I also saw them lose to Tennessee 10-7, when they were 28-point underdogs. The field goal that would have tied the score hit the crossbar and bounced back. It was one of the greatest games I ever saw.

Our day will come.
