Thanks for winning us the Auburn game with your fine performance in the second half Mackenzi Adams. Now please re-assume the role you've more than adequately held during your stay in Nashville. In case you were wondering, that would be as the back-up QB.
Our offense sucks. True the play calling is atrocious and as some say gutless, but the play of Adams has not helped us. He's not a good enough QB for us to win in the SEC. He makes too many errors with the ball and isn't accurate enough. I would be pushing for Nickson, but I don't think he's the answer as he's appeared to be a head case that easily gets down on himself (I'd love for him to prove me wrong).
We need Larry Smith to start at QB for the rest of the season. He's our answer for the long term and should be immediately as well. He won the state championship as a senior in Alabama beating Hoover. Adams won a state championship in Oklahoma's highest classification, but given his collegiate performance one cannot wonder if Smith would be a better choice. Their number's for their senior year of high school are fairly similar in all of the major categories, except for one. Smith had a completion rate of 60.54% his senior year compared to Adams' which only came in at 51.27%. That's a significant difference of 9.27%.
Smith's numbers suggest he's just as dangerous with his feet (5.68 ypc as a Sr.) as Adams (5.32 YPC as a Sr.), why not see if he can get it done throwing the ball? We have a bye week heading in to the Florida game. I don't think it would be wise to throw a player our there for his first game against Florida, but I'd love to see Bobby Johnson adapt with the adversity that's hampered our offense and try to get things going.
Maybe Smith won't get it done, but it he can't be much worse than what we've seen so far.
*All statistics are taken from Rivals.com recruit profile for both QB's
**Also, I'd put together a little excel spreadsheet I was pumped to include, but couldn't figure it out.

Yes! I like where you're heads at Burglar, the future is now. But what do you think the actual likelihood of CBJ putting in Smith in the near future (let's say w/i the next three games)?
I don't think CBJ will this season. He's never really proven to be someone who takes risks with anything. I'd love for him to at least incorporate Smith for 10 or so snaps, but I just don't think we'll see him this season.
I'd love to see Nickson put in the slot. I think he's to dynamic to be sitting on the sidelines. It'd give us sort of a "slash" player as well
Oklahoma is a joke of a state. Please do not compare stats from Alabama to those of OK. OU's roster is consistently filled with talent from Texas, not the Sooner state, which by the way is the gayest state nickname ever. I'm pretty sure Adams could not earn the starting job at Hoover HS.
Do you think Adams could have started at TA?
Word on the street is they had a badass circa 2002. I think his name was Dayte Hale.
