T-SHIRTS

I want my obnoxious shirt with the Vandy helmet slamming into the BC helmet and lightning striking. Why is it not available at the bookstore?

WYW is in the process of making T-Shirts... to be available soon on the web and at the Tailgate prior to the game.

Covering the Bowl Bases

WYW fans, we are going bowling and will be in either Memphis or Nashville for the game/New Years. Below is some travel information for the WYW faithful.
If in Nashville, the official hotel of WYW is the downtown Sheraton. This is the local cause it is walking distance to the stadium and Roberts and will provide for easy drinking. If you would like to book the link is here. Go ahead and book as there is no cancellation fee if done before the 27th on December.
If in Memphis, we will be staying in chateau RV and will arrive on New Years Eve to party on Beale. Then it will be off to Tunica to stay in the Harrah's RV park on the night of the 1st before arriving at the Liberty Bowl on the 2nd to tailgate! Hotel of choice is the Peabody of course, go see the ducks.

Links

It seems that the common consensus is that we're either going to the Liberty Bowl (Low, CBS) or the Music City Bowl (Schlabach, Feldman, Stewie). I'm impartial and think both would be awesome...but if it's Memphis, Nails Williford Social Chair 2k9!

Playing in the Music City Bowl could get interesting if we have to play any of the teams mentioned...

Additionally, there's an article on the vandysports website that offers hope for the future. I knew we could potentially return everyone outside of Reshard (and DJ), but I was still nervous about our WR situation. It looks like we could have some hope there as we have the two transfers who will be eligible, John Cole coming back from injury, and Brady Brown coming in as a recruit. Hopefully Udom Umoh will step up and fullfill the promis he came to Vandy with. Regardless, that's 5 WR's with serious skills and potential. You'd think at least a few of them will pan out.

With pretty much the entire defense coming back and our whole offense coming back (I consider even the prospect of Larry an upgrade over the two jokes that have played this season) that we should be better. Anyways, that article is pretty encouraging without being too hopeful.

10-I-See Bound

The Wake game was not fun to watch. That’s all Im gonna say about that. There was one bright shining point though, and that was the play of Larry Smith. Don't know how many of you were watching the game on Saturday, but there was one play that especially sticks out:

On a 2nd down, deep in their own territory, down 17-10, Larry launched a bullet from his own 5, that hit Sean Walker right in the bread basket on the opposing 40. If his head hadn't been so far up his ass, it would have been a touchdown, and a tie game. It was the most beautiful pass I have seen in a Vanderbilt Football game since Jay Cutler left Dudley Field. If you were looking for something positive to take away from the loss in Winston-Salem, let it be that Larry Smith is going to be a fun guy to watch in the future.

Something to look forward to:

We are definitely bowl bound, and definitely headed to either Memphis (Liberty Bowl Jan. 2) or Nashville (Music City Bowl Dec 31). I could see us going either way, but just based on my gut, I think we are headed to the Vegas.

More to follow soon...
